ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

SAM BOSENCE

Sam Bosence had lived all over Canada and Germany before she arrived in New Brunswick. She’d picked up an interest in mountain biking, and realized the province was a great spot for the sport. “I wanted to improve my riding or go to new Destinations across New Brunswick,’ she says. “I just didn’t know how to get better. I was going on group rides, but it wasn’t progressing my skills to the level that I knew I could get to.” She looked at other places in North America and Europe that had great mountain biking. They had companies offering tour packages and training courses, but there was nobody doing that in New Brunswick.

Sensing an opportunity, Sam figured she could start such a company if she could put together a group of great coaches. “That was difficult,” she says, “Because there were no certified leaders that had a globally recognized certification program. I wanted to have a very high-quality team. Then, pulling from my experience in Europe and North America, see what was working in those spots and how I could apply that to this adventurous terrain and East Coast culture.”

“You wouldn’t go rock climbing, for example, without an experienced person showing you the way,” says Bosence. “We’ll give you pointers, simple adjustments, that will enhance your experience. Paths you’ve never ridden before and now you can with your friends, off you go. We’re safety instructors at the core. You can think, ‘Maybe now is the time I go with a certified leader, so I know what I’m doing, and take it to the next level. It feels empowering.”
